In today's COURIER, I provided a bit of coverage from the Vista del Valle Elementary vs Oakmont Outdoor School flag football game last week. Though Vista pulled out a 28-7 win, the contest was just the first of 3 sporting events of friendly competition the 2 schools will take part in this year.
Vista del Valle Principal David Stewart and his wife, Oakmont Principal Stacey Stewart are to be commended for coming up with an idea to help unify the 2 Claremont Unified School District schools and also emphasize the importance of academic responsibility and behavioral accountability. Attendance has been up at the 2 schools with Vista and Oakmont also competing in attendance challenges on a monthly basis.
Thanks to Oakmont for providing the photo above and the photos below that captured some of the best moments of last Wednesday's game:

it is always nice and rejoicing to see the kids and future athletes to play and enjoy the fun of a sport, in this case football, I hope they can make come their dreams come true as I did with me dream of becoming a bookie, if they do it, they will be so happy in their lives
